My Newspaper
Asked recently by a national polling service to rate the quality of daily print journalism i, I responded with the following:
1. Of mild interest.
2. Of mild interest but unnecessary to my well-being.
3. Not interesting at all.
4. Already was aware of what was reported.
5. Sometimes mildly inspirational.
6. Often horrific and therefore disruptive to my sleep deprivation.
7. Too often tragic in far-away places unknown to me, but where US airbases are located.
8. Better off knowing about it tomorrow or the next day.
9. Better off not knowing it at all.
10. Obituaries all too often don’t state the obvious; i.e. ‘He or She died of death.’
