Renoir

I'm making a list of things I'm going to do in the New Year (2018) the way I used to make a Christmas list every year when I was a boy:

1) read "A Sentimental Education."

2) get rid of many of the books presently clogging my bookshelves.

I was going to add to the list, eat flaxseed everyday, having been told flaxseed is good for me. But everyday I eat flaxseed the little seeds stick in my teeth to point where they become as irritating as having something in my shoe that shouldn't be there.

Jean Renoir remembers his father, the painter, saying, "When you are young, you think everything is going to slip through your fingers. You run, and you miss the train. As you grow older, you learn that you have time, and that you can catch the next train."
