The Journalists who help build America
The picture above is of the big lump I felt when I went to the pick up my Sunday paper--a virtual reality gizmo packed in cardboard and co-sponsored by NYT, GE, and Google, stuffed into the blue plastic sack that shields my morning newspaper.
If I continue to enjoy reading the New York Times and consider my reading of it as a civic responsibility, I'm going to have to continue to overlook the relationships, partnerships, marketing opportunities etc. that the Times must feel it has to establish to exist as a business and accept that it was, after all, journalism that helped, and continues to help, build American business by being a business itself.
