As previously reported, Aristotle had such great faith in the world that he expected those who attempted to watch a film by Bergman to emerge from the theatre in stunned silence as if they'd been in a cave deprived of sunlight.
Because the films of Bergman are art, the silence is a good sign and it's clear the artist intended for us to see that there is still much to be learned from light.

After seeing "Cries and Whispers, one viewer said he felt as if he'd been, "pole-axed." Another said she wasn't quite sure what she'd seen, which made what she'd seen, "meaningful."
