queen elizabeth's hat

We think we're modern, but we're not.

The past keeps opening its doors on the present and the present on the past.

We live from illusion to illusion, inflated by helium, twisted into shapes that please us and last the rest of our lives.

Many are sustained by .40oz. diet Cokes and jalapeno Cheetos.

We learn to live in recognition of all-of-the-above and smile for the cameras. Headlines are only what's happened to the past, and the past is only what happens over and over.

Nor should we be suprised to learn there is a homeless shelter hiding under Queen Elizabeth's hat.
