Chesa Boudin, The Select Committee Hearings, and Me

I see we’re standing at the confluence of technology and conformity, where the brute forces of big money and bullshit appear overwhelming. Self-reliance is now officially a Fantasy; instead, we walk down Fillmore clicking and double-clicking our iPhones to make sure we’re thinking how others think or that we’re thinking in some sort of mildly articulated, nuanced opposition. We live in a democracy; we’ve been raised to actually believe that the majority rules. But the majority has never ruled, the idea that the majority rules is a fairy tale, the majority will only rule when everyone becomes equal, if not necessarily the same.

I have a great and growing desire to be beyond anonymous, if there is such a state, so that no one other than those I love can know me or anything about me. Perhaps this desire is a fantasy too, the pre-game dream before I actually wake up and see that we, not God or any one book in the Bible, are creating the conditions in which the apocalypse can flourish.
