San Francisco itself
Yesterday, I had San Francisco all to myself.
The silence was spotless.
The city noise had come apart at the seams.
Walking alone, it felt that if I walked too fast I'd fall down and if I walked too slowly I'd come to the end of things as I'd once known them.
When I came across another person the beginning of a conversation was the best I could do, for now.
I'm looking forward to tomorrow and hope to see you there, whoever you are.
