Pop-up democracy
Kavanaugh follow-up:
Today's The New York Times (Sunday, September 16, 2018), in a piece written by Carl Hulse with the headline "Accusation Shows Little Sign of Impeding Kavanaugh Nomination", a recounting of the disclosure by Sen. Feinstein of a letter accusing the nominee of sexual misconduct while he was in high school, is this little gem confirming my earlier contention that Kavanaugh is as much a member of Trump's cabinet as he is (or will be) a Supreme Court Justice: "Through a statement from the White House on Friday, he (Kavanaugh) categorically denied any such episode took place."
Hmmm, as Harry Shearer might say.
It's now safe to say that in the future we'll only have little pop-up democracies here and there, where the emphasis is on the extremely local and the charade of independent individual voting will be re-enacted in small but completely transparent booths manned by volunteers from the Heritage Foundation, the Cato Institute and the Federalist Society.
Brett Kavanaugh is set to join the Trump Cabinet, with fellow team member Steve Mnuchin eagerly awaiting his official arrival.
