A Meaningful Facebook post: guest blog by Sam Gurr

In the last few months I've been trying to make it a habit of making meaningful and fairly well articulated posts before I go to bed.

I want to make my page a bit more than just chicken and cat posts. (Maybe toss in a dog or sloth once in awhile).

I intend to continue on this path (whether it's well received or not), for the sake of not allowing Facebook to turn me into a complacent media junkie.

I do like the memes. I do like the random nonsense that spreads like a mind numbing virus through the "interwebs", but I also want it to remain a relevant platform for communicating with people that I doubt I'll see in person for long periods of time (if I ever see them again). Even for the people I'll probably never meet face-to-face with whom I've become friends.

I started typing this not knowing what I was going to write about, but it's writing itself.

What started out as an attempt to show myself that even though it felt like there was nothing going on in my head, the effort of trying to put something out there activates my brain.

I have found myself many times just going through the motions of what is required of me on a daily basis. I've also learned that if you do not force your brain to think, it will eventually become rather inefficient!

I have to end this post now, because my chicken is biting the heck out of my toes!

{?}{?}{?}

He's not used to seeing me with my shoes off, and apparently he is displeased with that!

LOL

Good night.

Sam Gurr writes about all sorts of things from Las Vegas, NV and sometimes puts them up on Facebook.
