It was fun seeing the Senate come to no deal last night; I watched it on C-SPAN. The US government's now officially shut down. Perhaps it's no great loss. And why are we surprised by the behavoir of our political leaders? The people we elect are dysfunctional people, just like we are.
Mitch McConnell is our very own Benjamin Netanyahu.
On a happier front, we have identified the next President of the United States: Catherine Cortez Masto, US Senator from Nevada. She's accomplished, she's fair, and she knows how to turn a phrase: "I'm fighting for everyone." She used the term three or four times in a short interview on MSNBC. How beautiful is that? "Fighting for everyone." It's breathtakingly beautiful. It's so much better than "Hope and Change" or "Make American Great Again."
