Warped

What love means between two people is that they can act like two people who can also act like the animals they are when they're with each other.

Kierkegaard's 'romance' with Regine Olsen began when she was 14 and he 24. It appears that he knew it was wrong for him from the beginning, didn't consummate, and famously called the engagement off to devote his energy to his own writing and his inward Christianity.

Everything warps in time, for better or worse, even the word itself, which can have both a negative and a positive meaning.

Thinking about a specific relationship the other day, a relationship I value with a person I love, I see that I've failed. It wasn't entirely my fault, nor theirs, it's just that neither of us bent in the direction of the other or that when we did bend we bent in a way neither of us could foresee to the point of breaking, when we could have just become warped instead.
