Someone once said walking down a street in Rome is an aesthetic experience. It might have been Walter Benjamin, or one of the other philosophers with two first names.

When asked what he's looking at as he stares out the window on a cold winter morning, my grandson, age 5, says, "my teacher tells me it's good to look outside in the morning for birds."
