Hotel room, Lander, Wyoming
The distinction made between civil rights and civil liberties in the private belief system and public performance of Eric Holder, Atty. General, is something to think about while driving from Lander, Wyoming to Salt Lake City, Utah.
Two hundred and ninety one miles and the distinction is still unclear.
O well, so what. I had a good night's sleep in Lander, got up and left the hotel first thing in the morning, on the road by 7 AM. Lots of antelope, great white clouds in the sky, and the views from South Pass will always be spectacular. There's a good place for breakfast in Green River, Buckaroos. Doesn't look like much but the food is fantastic.
A distinction between civil rights and civil liberties is finally made near Salt Lake City: it's somewhere between feeling free to come and go as I please and the thought that someone might be watching my comings and goings.
