St. Mary's Cathedral, Krakow

God is playing with the universe and sometimes makes time to play along with us.

We believe in God because we believe God believes in us.

If God were to travel through the Polish countryside and come across a Polish cemetery, God might say that's as good a place as any to live, and that if you dig down deep enough that's where you'll see man.

But we can't see like God sees. We only see the headstones in the cemetery and the shop across the street that sells the headstones.

We build cathedrals because we believe God is watching us and will be pleased by what we're doing. But God isn't watching us, God's too busy playing to watch what we're doing.

Except in Krakow. Seeing St. Mary's Cathedral from a distance, God is astonished and comes inside for a few minutes because God believes in us.
