At Larkin and McAllister

A friend and reader remarked the other day that it looked as if I had more fun taking pictures than writing, or at least as much fun.

I don't know if that's true, I said, but it might be true.

In any case it made me think that my future's wrapped up in what I'm doing with my time.

From now on if someone asks, what are you up to these days, I'm going to say that I spend more time than ever out walking around San Francisco looking at things, and that sometimes I stop walking and take a picture of what I see, like I did yesterday afternoon at the corner of Larkin and McAllister.
