Science times

In one of Beckett's late novels he has a sentence or two about a writer who uses the word 'perhaps' one too many times.

It's charming, in the way only Beckett can be charming, in that he's writing about himself, of course.

It's as if he recognizes in his own voice a great silence, and in the voices of others.
