For a moment or two I was in that wonderful space of not wanting anything.

I was free of the notion of being interesting to others, after seeing that those who seemed interesting at the time turned out not to be and those who didn't seem interesting at the time were most interesting.

With the idea of mass destruction and enough of the concept actualized as to be convincing, I became convinced enough of evil to see that it had progressed beyond the point where religion could ever seem real, much less offer a solution to the problem.
