Poem

Straw Bale House

If you have a little money

buy a little land

beneath mountains

that look like they're still

beneath the sea.

Sink the well

deep enough to trust

the water.

Put the house up

in a slow hurry

with thick mud walls

that keep summer cool

and winter warm.

Then move inside yourself

to see what's there--

if there's nothing

you can always

look out the window.
