Songwriter

When someone sends you a book of poems, it's inexcusable not to respond. Silence in such a case is criminal. It's mandatory to say something--I don't like the poems, I don't understand the poems, I don't read poetry, for instance--than to say nothing.

Nor should the poet make excuses for those to whom he  or she's sent books and who've chosen not to respond.

When asked for whom he creates his music, Scott Walker, singer/songwriter, said, I suppose I'm doing it for myself...hoping to reach a lot of other me's.
